More Christmas pictures...
Communication
Mason has been getting so much better at communicating- obviously alot of it is still jibberish, but he's trying! He's recently stopped saying Mama, but boy he's sure got Dada down, and he's started the squealing! Other than that he says "Daw" for Dog (every morning he says 'Hi Daw!'), "Hi", "Bye" and waves, "Dada", 'aigh' for light (he points at all lights that are on!), "Dat" and points to whatever he wants, and "Aaaaaaaaaat!" for cat (and he does it to sound like a cat too!) and nuuum for food. And of course he shakes his head no at everything. If he gets in trouble (say for playing with the tv buttons) and I take him away and say No No, he'll whine and shake his head no at me! Glad he cant tell me No yet! He does say Naa Naa alot lately, not sure if its just mumbling or what or if he knows its for Nana (Granma M). If you ask Mason "Where is Dada?" He either points to Gavin's office door or to the back door (garage). LOL If he hears the garage door open or close he yells "DADA!" and waves. Its definitely fun to see him figuring things out!
This morning he was sitting in the entry way in his push car and I opened up the front door for the dogs to enjoy their live tv (glass storm door) usually he points and says "uh uh uh" at things, but today when i opened the door he patted his car, pointed outside, said "Ouu" and looked at me- I actually understood that he wanted to go for a ride outside. Sadly, i had to disappoint him, it was too early for Mom!

Like Father like Son!
Either the apple doesnt fall far from the tree or it's just in the blood...but Mason LOVES cars ALREADY! I might be in trouble! Mason loves hot wheels and usually always has one in hand around the house and even makes 'vroom vroom' sounds. For Christmas Santa brought Mason 2 great toys, a push car/buggy, and an electric push car (thanks Uncle JB!). I've never seen Gavin SO proud since the day Mason was BORN when Mason figured out how to drive the car (push the power button) as SOON as he got into the electric car! It is now a mandatory ride daily outside whether warm or cold! He loves to sit in the car inside and push the button and scare the dogs, too bad he hasnt figured out how to steer yet! Gavin brought out his remote control car one night and had some fun chasing poor Molly around and Mason just had a blast playing with Daddy!
On a side note after taking his first steps last night, Mason walked across the room today! Holy Moly!!

Mason & Molly
Molly is our funny little dog. Molly and Bear were my Mom's dogs...after she passed away we 'temporarily' adopted them (pre-Mason) which was supposed to be 6 months, is now almost 2 years. So we indefinitely have the dogs. I kind of have a love hate relationship with having 3 dogs. All 3 dogs (Shelby, Molly & Bear) are such great dogs, get along WONDERFULLY and all are such great pets and really good with Mason. What I hate is that I have THREE DOGS! (dont forget we have the 2 cats AND Mason too!) ...DAD- did I mention how much I LOVE our new dyson Santa brought me?!?! it definitely makes having 5 pets easier!
Anyway, Molly has always been kinda wierd around kids, just not sure about them and didnt want to have anything to do with kids really, but Molly has really surprised me over the past 6 months since Mason became mobile. Molly has become such a GREAT dog for Mason, so tolerable and really plays with him too! Shelby sometimes plays with Mason and her tennis ball, but most of the time she is just a ball hog! Bear just doesnt really play, since she's kind of skittish, but she come up for a kiss or two and lets Mason pet her alot. Molly on the other hand, plays with Mason. He's learned to play like the dogs, he scrambles (thats what I call a fast crawl!) and headbutts her and charges her, and she does her funny bouncing around at Mason! She even lets Mason roll all over her and lay on top of her, he's so funny he just lays flat on top of her with his arms and legs just spread out! Here's a few cute pictures of them playing in the sunroom the other day.
Enjoy!

We have a Toddler!
I've heard babies become toddlers when they start walking-well Mason became a toddler tonight! That's right- he took his first steps tonight...not just one or 2, but more like 5 steps SEVERAL times! We were so excited and he was clapping and laughing the whole time! Nana & Granpa McNosky were there to see it too! I knew that when he figured it out he would take off with it! We were all so excited and he was so funny when he caught on! We'll have to get it on video tomorrow, so hopefully we just wore him out tonight and he will sleep GREAT tonight!
here's some recent photos that I've been slacking on posting!
Mason playing with some big ornaments last month...

Mason after testing my homemade Marshmallows- what a mess!

Mason being silly while eating lunch- yes yes i know - no faux hawk, we dont always style it at home! But you can see why we DO style his hair, its everywhere!

Messy Boy!

Funny little man!

He definitely has a funny bone!

Birthday Pictures!
Finally!!!! I just about had to break bones to get gavin to upload the pictures for me. Well i didnt really hurt him, but I most definitely threatened him that I would do physical harm! LOL
Mason birthday party was a beach theme (crazy in december right?) but we decided (really I) to carry out the beach theme/surfboard theme that we have in his room. Finding beachy things in December was much easier than I thought! and a bonus that most of it was on sale too! :)
Enjoy!
Mason's Yummy cupcakes!

Orchids in an old 'Mason' jar

Favors for Mason's party guests! They were Mason jars with turbinado sugar at the bottom (to look like sand) with surfboard shaped cookies (made by yours truely!) and the starfish on top was a Christmas ornament! Pretty crafty huh!

Mason and his cupcake

Oy what a mess!

Mason opening up his gifts! He wasnt so interested in 'opening the gifts' but more wanted Mom to open them and he would just play with them!

'Yeah! Look mom- race car stuff! too cool!'

Merry Christmas!
I know it's been a while! At first I was just waiting for Gavin to upload Mason's birthday pictures for me, but that STILL hasnt happened and I just got busy! So everyone send Gavin angry emails about not having any Birthday photos yet!!!
Mason has a great Birthday party all our friends and family came over and I think he just enjoyed playing with his friends. He didnt care too much for his cupcake, well not the icing at least! I think he enjoyed the cupcake part at least! He made out with a ton of new toys that he still loves! I think its time for Mom to clean out the old toys!
Christmas was great! Christmas eve we spent over at Gavin's Grandparents house for the afternoon and opened up gifts and had lunch then we headed to my dad's house for pizza and playtime with cousin Rilee. The 2 babies play so good together and I think enjoy each others company so much. Christmas morning we met up again at my dad's house for gifts, photos and breakfast! Funny thing- I gave Gavin 2 pairs of matching pajama bottoms- he asked why he got 2 pairs, and i said for us to wear matching pjs! Ironically, Amy and Chris and Rilee did the same! So we got some cute photos and got some really great gifts! Mason made out great! He got a PBK Anywhere Chair, a push around Buggy from Uncle Josh, lots of Little People sets, a funny christmas DVD from Amy that stars Mason in it, and lots more! Call me domesticated but I was just beyond thrilled with my new rug and Dyson vacuum! Its AWESOME! After a nice noon nap, we headed back to my dad's house for a late lunch with the entire family and also for some fun gametime! Mason has been playing with his toys all morning so I can finally sit down and blog!
So what's new with Mason this holiday season? He's 1, still crawling up a storm, standing when he wants but no walking yet, got his 3rd haircut, got to see Santa TWICE (and didnt cry either time!) just got over another viral infection (and NO runny nose in a week now!!! HORRAY!) loves to dance, loves cars already (hot wheels specifically) and got bit by the cat again (who is now known as Mean Kitty) so he's learning who to NOT play with!
Moms exciting news for the season- I managed to design an amazing tree that Mason hasnt destroyed! Horray!
Photos will follow within 24 hours- I PROMISE! Gavin has NO choice now!

My child must be confused...
I thought I have taught him how to eat well....apparently not. I'm sure his tastebuds are off after his surgery because he's been super picky with food. But lately you put food in front of him and he PICKS at it and plays with it.. but if he manages to get his hands on a piece of paper- HE EATS it. and unfortunately the same with DOG FOOD. The dogs are on a feeding schedule and rarely there is a time when a morsel is left on the floor or in the bowl, but Mason manages to find it and enjoy it for a snack. Just what I need- something else to make his breath even worse!!

Breath of Death!!
Okay, so the ENT specialist told us that when things start healing from Mason's adnoidectomy (scabbing over where his adnoids were) we might experience some bad breath from Mason. What he didn't tell us was HOW bad it would be! It smells like something DIED (gavin jokes something did!). Unfortunately cleaning his mouth or teeth wont work because the smell isnt coming from his mouth, thats where its just coming OUT! if it gives you any idea how bad it is- I smelled something bad earlier so I went to change Mason's diaper, and no there was no poopy! Yikes! Rocking him to sleep has become torture because he's practically suffocating me when he breathes on me! I sure hope this doesnt last much longer!
