Surgery went good!

Mason had his ear tubes put in and adnoids removed on Wednesday- it was a quick procedure and recovery has gone well too, he's just been a little cranky with pain from the adnoidectomy but he's done good with daily doses of tylenol. He's been back to playing and lots of endless energy! He also dropped his 2nd nap for the past week now, so we're down to 1 nap a day now (Mom needs one too ya know!) I think Mason will be back to normal by Monday and back to feeling 110%!
Off to find what trouble my baby is getting into!

I'm not a sap.

I just looked at the calendar & I remembered today 8 years ago Gavin and I officially started dating "exclusively"! oooh! Funny thing that my friends joke I'm such a guy in relationships, I'm not your typical sappy kinda girl- when we watch girlie movies (yes I do like those!) and there's a 'sweet' moment when my girlfriends are "awe-ing" i'm usually sticking my finger in my mouth gagging- me being the funny one that I am, joke that I don't like "Sweet" I like "Salty!" Good thing Gavin doesnt mind me being so funny and not so sweet all the time! (I CAN be sweet- I promise!) Good thing for gavin he had learned to deal with me! Guess I should go and show him the rare sight of my sweet side! :)

Hong Kong Photos

Man jet lag stinks! I havent even had the energy to upload photos yet, but I did upload some from the first couple of days while we were in HK. So what did we do? We did the usual and shopped and saw the sights!

Sunrise View from my dad's apartment- what an amazing view to wake up to! Living in Hong Kong we lived on the southern side of the island (the quiet side) so this was actually my first time waking up to such an amazing view!


Repulse Bay- famous 'hole' in the building- rumor says its to allow a mystical dragon thru when it comes down from the mountain on its way to the ocean, some also say the Architect was just being crazy. "Repulse" bay was named after a British navy ship- they were good at scaring off the pirates. Repulse bay was also home to "The Repulse Bay" which was one of the most prestigous resorts in Asia pre- World War II and was taken over by the Japanese, the repulse bay cliffs was the site where massacres took place and the bodies were dumped into the bay. Now its just home to lots of people and apartments and the temple on the beach!

Hello from Asia!

Can you believe it? Weve actually left Mason behind　for a week! We decided to go visit my Dad in Hong Kong as he spends one of his last weeks in HK before his big move to Indianapolis. I havent been out to Asia in 3 years so we thought it was about time! We dropped Mason off with Grandma & Grandpa last saturday night and of course I cried for an hour! Ive left Mason behind for a short weekend but it was really hard this time!! I watched movies the whole flight to keep myself distracted and we shopped pretty much the ENTIRE trip so I didnt think about my sweet Baby constantly. Were now sitting in an internet cafe in Narita Japan and now that I know we are on our way home, I am so eager to get this next flight over so I can see him again! 2 more hours left of this layover! We had a great trip in HK lots of good food- Chinese(and the real STUFF!), Thai, Sushi....ALL the stuff i love! We shopped til we dropped (literally!) got to see some amazing views, met up with old friends and enjoyed a few evenings out with my dad. And boy did we WALK! It got my momentum up to start my walking routine again since we walked ALL over HK the past 5 days. Now I am shopped out, tired of airports and ready to sleep in my wonderful bed again...not to mention just to be with Mason again! I miss him so much! It seems like longer than a week since Ive seen him! I cant wait to upload all my photos and go thru all my goodies (aka Christmas gifts) I did however hit the jackpot with finding some great clothes for Mason and Rilee!
Well we are off to find something to eat here besides Squid Chips! Looking forward to being home soon and seeing my regular subject matter!!

Horray! Improvement!

At Dr. Visit #7 this morning Dr. O said he definitely saw an improvement in Mason's ears! That's great news! We had round of shot #2 today and go back on Friday morning for the final round. I saw an improvement this morning in Mason, actually yesterday too. He had endless energy yesterday afternoon and seemed to feel really good (he always seemed to feel fine, just sometimes he was much more cranky than usual!) this morning he was so happy and his nose didnt start running until about an hour after he woke up, and it hasnt been as bad as usual. Usually it starts real fast in the morning! He was in such a good mood this morning, while in the waiting room at Dr. O's office he was being so silly with me- its nice to have my funny baby back!! He's such a little ham and a big show off! He did have quite a restless sleep last night, he woke up around 2 and didnt get him back down until nearly 4 am (yuck!!) but I knew with this ear infection the teething backed off, inbetween him being sick and getting better we sometimes had bouts of teething but nothing cut thru, so maybe with finally getting better he'll pop out this last tooth that's taken forever and maybe even have his proper growth spurts I think he's missed out on for the past 2 months!
So hopefully Friday we'll have some great news and he wont have to get the tubes in his ears after all! (at least not right now!)
Sounds like someone is listening to my prayers! Yeah!! :-)

More Dr. visits...

we're going in for #7 on Wednesday and #8 on Friday. Mason's ear infection is still there and the last (stronger) anti-biotic (Augmentin) didn't work so Dr. O told us to stop taking that one (yeah no more Diahrrea!) we started a round of shots yesterday we'll be doing this week and if THIS doesnt get rid of the ear infection then our next option is having tubes put in his ears! :-(
Please Pray these shots clear it up for GOOD!

Dr visit #6

That would be today. Dr visit #6 since September 3rd. This is INSANE. We were just at our Pediatrician's office Thursday afternoon. I knew something wasnt right. Mason went on Amoxocillin a few weeks back finished it (was on it for 10 days) and he was still pulling at his ears and still had the runny nose. So we went thursday and Dr. O gave him Augmentin (nice side effect of Diahrrea! yuck!) so we've been on it for 5 days now and Mason's nose has cleared up a little but not by much. Boogers are completely clear now just running like a faucet as usual. He still has this little cough too, but its mostly at night. Dr O wanted an update today to see if there was an improvement, he said if that doesnt work (seems to be Mason has a high resistance to Anti-Biotics) then we'll go on Zitromax, which apparently kills just about any and all ear infections! SO PRAY that Mason finally gets over it this week. We're going to visit my Dad next week and Mason will be staying with Grandpa & Grandma and I dont want them dealing with it! Here's to ridding Mason of his ear infection FOR GOOD!

INTO EVERYTHING!

Mason is a boy (obviously.) and likes to destroy things. if anything is in its place, he likes to make it not so. That goes for clean laundry folded in the basket. Dirty laundry IN the basket. Toys on his shelf. Dog food in the bowl. Water in the Cats' bowl. Tupperware in the cabinet. Remotes on the end table. left over food on his tray (Mason and the dogs have conspired against us and they have now convinced him to feed them his left overs.) No No Mason!

Normally I wouldnt post Mason's bath photos, but theses are clean ones. Most of the time he'll be flashing us! That reminds me, I saw a Onsie today that said "I'd rather be Naked" and I thought of Mason! haha!

PS- the red spot you see on his cheek in some of the photos was a small rash that popped up when he got sick with his Ear infection & Sinus Infection. It goes away when he's better, but flares up each time he gets sick!

PPS- NOTICE Mason SANS his faux hawk! yes, when we're around the house, he doesnt always have his hawk up!

Mean Kitty!

Poor Mason has learned his lesson with Sabai (our Male Cat) I've been trying to teach Mason "Gentle" with the kitties and doggies, but sometimes he just hits on them or grabs them. He's been so interested in them lately especially when the cats are in their chair. Sabai was resting on day last week and Mason came up and as I was taking pictures I was telling Mason to be nice to Kitty and be Gentle. Well, sad to say Sabai got him. he's declawed in the front claws, but not the back. It looks like he went to bite Mason in the picture, but there were no bite marks, only scratches from his back claw as he ran away (no picture for that because I was already consoling Mason!) But Mason's a trooper and got his first big Boo-Boo last week!
