The Look
Maddox gives us this look ALL the time. Either he's smiling or he's giving us 'the eyebrow'. He got this look from Gavin. I see it on Gavin's face at LEAST once a day when I say something crazy. (happens pretty often apparently). It just cracks me up with the ONE eyebrow furrowed. We've been trying to capture his look on camera but he's so dang quick. But finally, i caught it! ;-)

Zoo day!
yesterday we headed out to the FW Zoo. It was half price wednesday with really nice weather. We met up with our friends Jennifer, Jeff and Jackson and had a blast!
Here's Mason all ready for the zoo!!
Maddox stayed at home with Daddy so I wouldn't have to be one of those moms with an infant strapped to my chest with a bottle sticking out while running after a toddler. (Thanks Daddy!) I was also worried about Maddox being in the sun too long, so it was best for him to stay home in the nice a/c. SO we took the double stroller and the boys loved it that they could ride side by side and get out easily too.
Lets GO already says Jackson!
Jackson & his Mommy & Daddy
BOY did these 2 enjoy climbing on the fences all day!
Feeding the parakeets. Mason decided to feed his to the pond. Jackson decided to snack on his birdseed stick.
Jennifer and Jackson feedin' the birds
This little guy thought we were the exhibit instead.
Checking out the lizards
Pretty lizard. He was probably thinking all those little toddler fingers look like a tasty snack
What you can't see in this picture is the truck Jackson is playing with. Mason brought 2, 1 for him and 1 for Jackson. They never put them down all day. You'd think Jackson would be fascinated with the swimming turtle. not so much. moreso the truck had a road to ride on!
CHecking out the tortoise eating his lunch.
Must be a tasty salad!
Mason and jackson walked a TON on the way back from the kids area to the front of the zoo. We were a bit sweaty and smelled like Zoo animals for sure! But we definitely had fun! Can't wait to go again and ride the train!

I see you
Tonight was our last biblestudy /lifegroup for the semester. We have amazing friends and an awesome support group we've found in our lifegroup, we're SO blessed to be apart of this group and to see how it's grown in the past 2 years!
Monday nights Dee comes over to watch Mason. they dance along to dancing with the stars, take a bath and eat ice cream before bed. We figured we wouldn't bog Dee down with both kids just yet, so Maddox either goes to Amy's house for the evening, or he goes to the church nursery.
Tonight he went to the church nursery, and Gavin ran to the church to pick him up and came back to Martin & Marsha's house with Maddox so we could socialize for a few minutes before heading home after group. Of course everyone wants to hold him since he was awake- so he's making eyes at everyone and coo-ing and smiling. I think all the faces became a blur to him after a while, he just had this look on his face like, 'Now who the heck are you? I don't recognize you. But if you smile, then okay, I'll smile too!"
At one point I was standing next to Corlia who was holding Maddox. Maddox heard my voice and turns his head and the look on his face just said it all, "ooooh MOMMA there you ARE!" and just got the most love drunken silly grin on his face and just had a huge sigh of relief. I just love to see that look of recognition in his eyes when he sees me first thing in the mornings and he pumps his legs in excitement and starts tellng me stories in that baby talk. God bless that unconditional love and the comfort it brings. :-)

End of School
This week is Mason's last week of school for the year. I am a mean mommy and stick my kid in summer school. Hey, I'm a workin' mom too. So I'm not TOO sad about that. Last year Mason had great teachers in the toddler room. I wasn't so sure we could get as great teachers this year. Of course we DID. Ms Kari, Ms Tina & Ms Barbara are AWESOME and am sad that they don't get to move on with the kids. Ms Kari is retiring this year which is so unfortunate because our preschool is losing an AMAZING teacher. The other day Mason wore a shirt that says, "My dad has super powers" I thought, hmmm it should have Ms Kari has super powers, because she really does. She has a way with our kids that just makes sense to them, but she's very authoritative. Maybe they just listen to her because she's not MOM. who knows! She's just good!
The class had their little program (songs) last thursday and Friday, so of course I attended both days. Mason sat with the kids on thursday and just really stared at me. Friday he didn't want to have ANYTHING to do with the songs. (of course that's the day Daddy came w/his camera.)
This is what Mason wanted to do the whole 10 minutes of the class singing their songs.
This is Jackson, Mason's best bud at school. Jackson is NOT a morning person and doesnt like music time in the mornings. HOWEVER, stick his daddy in the room and make it after NAP time, and you've got yourself a DIFFERENT KIDDO! he was so funny with his little dancing to their songs. Poor Jackson's daddy had to sit in the little kids chairs with them the whole time. (the whole 10-15 minutes) haha! Jackson is such an animated kid, he's so funny!
The next 2 pictures is of Brooke & Presley (the twins) i ADORE these girls. They are so cute and quirky. Brooke Loves babies. baby dolls, baby blankets, baby bottles, baby boppies (pacifiers). The funny thing is when she carries around a babydoll, its not just one, its 2! which completely makes sense- she has a twin so she's used to 2 of everything! Presley is quiet and very inquisitive (i think she's just thinking thru her plan of action before making the trouble! LOL) and SO curious of baby Maddox. She just loves to stand there and watch him.
MIss Brooke- i LOVE her curls. sometimes she reminds me of a Dr Seuss character with her cute hair done up!
Presley has gorgous blue eyes and that just stand out from her dark pigtails!
And this little Man just gets their attention SO quick! The ladies SURE love MADDOX!
So back to the big kids.....Mason is a croc hunter. no joke. Brooke and Presley love taking their shoes off, which happen to be brightly colored crocs with jewelry. Mason takes this chance to wear them himself! I think the girls have now learned to keep their shoes on and Mason thinks its a fun game to steal their shoes!
Here's Mason teasing "Pressy" about taking her shoes. OH, and look I'm even in the picture. CAN you believe it? Sorry but you wont be seeing anymore of me in pictures until I'm a little more further postpartum and hopefully carrying around LESS baby weight too!
Notice the hand trying to steal Presley's shoe again! I finally ordered Mason some bright red crocs last week- hopefully they're here SOON!
Mason and his 'after nap hair' with his pink balloon. Pink is his color choice lately. I blame the pink overnight diapers. oh well its a phase and soon he'll be onto purple I'm sure!
I really really wanted a picture of the 4 kiddos and Ms Kari together, but sadly it didn't happen. Mason was done with pictures and decided he'd rather meltdown than take a picture. But again, Ms Kari to the rescue, she finally snapped him out of it!

Weekend Wrap up
I'm never sure how to really fill these 'weekend wrap ups' out. I read them on Friends' blogs all the time. However, we work half of 'real' weekends, and our days off are generally Sundays & Mondays..so I might start filling these out towards Tuesdays!
Worst part of the weekend: Mason having a meltdown AT school on friday after school. I wanted a picture of him, his teacher Ms. Kari and his 3 friends. He wasn't having any of it and major meltdown occurred. I can normally snap him out of tantrums pretty quick, but these meltdowns he's been having lately are a whole different level. they've been several times a week- guess it's a 2 year old thing? not sure, but he's been great all weekend since then!
Best part of the weekend: getting to sleep IN each morning. Mason's been sleeping in late (only if he ends up in our bed) and Maddox is a sleeper thankfully ;)
Most random part of the weekend: A 3.3 earthquake centered about 5 miles from here (??????) my thoughts exactly.
People I saw this weekend: Gavin, mason, maddox, Dee, chris, nana & pa pop, Tiffany, neighbors & clients
Something I wished I did this weekend that I didn't get around to doing: 90% of the things to get done on my list...laundry, packing away newborn clothes, reorganizing masons closet, gathering some items that we can do without for a family in need at church
Things that I am looking forward to this week: a slower week. haha is that really possible? i fill those up fast. Umm...a possible playdate with Jennifer & Jackson at the Zoo on wednesday morning, WHILE my house gets cleaned!
Things that I am not looking forward to this week: tons of computer work to do, masons last week of school with his awesome teachers.

Interpretation
Mason LOVES to draw, paint, color, etc. A month ago or so, I bought him an art easel from Ikea and he's just been loving it since. He was doing some interesting drawings today, so I had to ask what they were. I'm amazed at how his 'drawings' have evolved over the past week now!
This is what his normal drawings looked like a week ago. "Circle Circle" as he calls it.
Drawing #1
The yellow on the bottom left hand side, he said is 'Papaw's house' (he went to papaw's house today). The blue in the top right corner is 'big church'. and the figure in the middle is wearing an umbrella as he said. (I'm not quite sure about that one!) but not bad, right?
Drawing #2
I asked Mason if this was a blue sun, he said, "No, blue SPIDER!" (They're learning about bugs at school)
Drawing #3
In this one he's drawn 2 people, (a mommy, but not Mason's mommy he said), another spider and a 'Buff-ay" (Butterfly)
Drawing #4
Now this one slightly concerns me. I asked what it was, He said "Fall down" (lately he has a fear of falling down, falling off his changing table, a chair, anything that has some height, he's never been dropped, so not sure why!) It sort of depicts a crime scene to me (haha, NO he's not allowed to watch ANYTHING like that or remotely violent, we're extremely protective over him & what he watches on tv) so maybe his stick figure just fell down and got a boo boo?
I wasn't expecting my 2 year old to already graduate from scribles into drawings that might depict something quite yet! I have to say- we're 2 proud parents considering our artistic skills, we plan to just FEED the imagination and any creative skills in our boys!

A Delicate Day
Today was a sad day, I went to the funeral of a very close friend's mom. My good friend Erin lost her Mom last Thursday. Right before Mother's Day. Right before a trip scheduled to Italy. Just so sad, and unexpected. My heart goes out to her and her sister, and Dad. I only hoped that none of my friends would lose their Mothers (or any parent for that matter) at a young age. I was kind of hoping I'd be the only one in that club (along with my sister and brother) amongst my friends. I just hoped that none of my friends have to go thru that pain. Unfortunately Erin joined my club, but she knows she has an extremely supportive friend in me.
Just the reminder of how delicate life can be made me hug my husband a little bit longer tonight, stay on the phone with my sister and chat about nothings longer than normal, give Mason a few more kisses, hug Maddox a little tighter, spent a few extra minutes in prayer, sat for a while and listen to Mason's chatterings and Maddox's coo-ings, put away my computer work for a while and just BE. Thanked God for his graces, my friends and wonderful family. Life is too delicate to not appreiate those things.

Celebrating my Mom
Feb 19th is a hard day for me, the day my mom passed away. That's a hard day to smile on every year.
April 30th is my mom's birthday- and it's a bittersweet day. I think about her life, but still cry I don't get to celebrate her day with her.
Mother's day seems to be a different story. My first Mother's day without her was very hard, but I was pregnant with Mason so it did make it a little easier so to speak. This year I've been able to smile, remember and celebrate my Mom because she was my Mom. She was the most amazing woman I knew and still today she holds that title. The list goes on and on why I think she was such an amazing woman, but most of all she taught me how to be a Mom.
She taught me how to laugh at myself. on a daily basis.
Thanks to her, I love food- and she taught me how to be creative with it.
My mom showed me how to embrace my individuality, and how to become a leader.
I owe my love for all crafts and things creative to her, she saw that creativity in me and watered it to grow. I owe my talents and gifts to God.
She showed me how to appreciate my board straight hair that didn't frizz in humidity like hers
She taught me patience. and that patience pays off when it's revenge on your older sister. ;-)
She gave me my sense of adventure and likeness for spontaneous fun. She loved all things outdoors, camping, hiking, exploring... (i can't tell you how many times my mom took us camping as kids, don't ever remember Dad taking us (sorry dad!) )
She attempted to teach me how to drive stick shift. And I still remember.
She fed my love for travel, and she was bitten with the same bug.
She told me the importance of finding a friend in my sister. That finally made sense after she passed away, but I know how happy she is for her girls to be best friends.
She taught me that strength isn't in your muscles.
More than anything, I thank her for the unshakable faith she instilled in me. My faith is what drives me through life.
Now being a Mom myself, the things I take most from her that I will pass on to my children are:
1. Pray for your children everyday. (and spouse too!)
2. She told me she loved me everyday and how proud she was of me. I can't express the impact that made on me.
3. Make decisions with self assurance. Life is too short for regrets.
TO sum it up. MY MOM ROCKED!
Mom taking us on one of those 'adventures' even as adults. Summer 2003- our last trip to Payson, AZ to see Grandma before she passed away. You can only do so much shopping in a small town, so she got creative and a bit spontaneous. Note to self: keep good tennis shoes in the car when traveling. Hiking 3.5 miles into a ravine and back up in FLIP FLOPS makes for VERY sore feet & muscles.
I truly believe that the reason God has Blessed me with boys is because the relationship between my Mom, sister and I can't be compared.

Losing my mind
okay maybe I already have done that.
Twice in the past 2 days, I've opened the freezer door. Once I found the pepper shaker in the freezer. 2nd time i found an onion. I know I put both there. oops.
in my defense I think I was on the phone once.
On a side note- maybe putting an onion in the freezer isn't such a bad idea. maybe it won't make me cry when I chop it!

Quackin' around
Remember our duck friend? Well normally I'd have a link to my previous post, but I'm bad and don't tag any of my blog posts, so it's only my fault i guess that I can't find my previous post.
I think it was last year or maybe even 2007 that we had a momma duck and babies come in our yard/pool. they were cute but we were concerned for their safety with the pool skimmers and all since the babies couldn't get OUT of the pool on their own. Momma is back this year, but no sign of any babies which is a good thing. We know she has some somewhere, probably the house behind us (pretty sure that's where she hatched them last time) but Gavin blocked off any holes so the babies can't come into our yard.
Yes we're mean. No babies in our backyard. We don't like dead baby animals in our pool. Gavin fished out 2 dead bunnies a few weeks back. Momma doesn't like dead babies! Momma duck seems to be enjoying a nice quiet swim by herself though, I would too with 10+ kids!

Sweet spot
Mason knows Mommy's sweet spot. When he wants to butter me up, he's learned to be sweet to Maddox and will be very generous with his kisses!
After talking to Mason about NOT picking the bluebonnets, we noticed alot of the weeds with yellow flowers mixed in the bluebonnets, so we told Mason to ONLY pick the yellow flowers. Yeah for finding tasks for toddlers!
Mason setting some of the yellow weeds/flowers next to Maddox
Feeling the need to share some love!
again and again!
Sweet baby boy laying in Mason's hamper. Hey it's a cool hamper! That was MOM's idea. Just an FYI before you go complimenting Gavin on great pictures. I make good lookin' babies. Gavin makes good lookin' pictures. ;-D

Trouble!
Mason trying to distract us from what he's up to!
Hmmm...that face is questionable. When I see this face I generally stop what I'm doing and ask, "Mason what are you doing?"
He's avoiding looking at me, which is PROOF he is UP to something.
Oh no no no. do not pick the state flower!
mason made texas state potpourri! ugh.....WHY must boys destroy everything?? please tell me it stops sometime.
Our photo shoot shortly ended after this. We had a talk about NOT picking flowers, let alone shredding them. WHich he did not agree with. UGH.

playing ball
last night we were having some playtime with Mason before bed. We were playing with the bouncy balls we got from Hendrix's birthday party a few weeks back. Mason was being his funny self and stuck the ball up his shirt and walked around saying, "PEGANT MASON!" oh boy. boy did he think he was hilarious!
Then he decided he wanted 2 balls up his shirt (that's all that would fit thankfully) before long they were both side by side under his shirt and he started to resemble Dolly Parton. He patted his 'boobs' and said "baby!" HAHA oh man is he so so so confused. I'm just going to leave it at that. We'll worry about sex ed until he's older!

2 month check up
Maddox had his week overdue 2 month check up yesterday- didn't catch how long he is, but he's 12 lbs 10 oz and happy and healthy! And yes he actually cried when they gave him his shots, can you believe it? He started giving us random grins a few weeks ago but the past couple of days anytime we pick him up, he just fixates on us (I'm thinking he mostly fixates on my forehead for some reason) and just gives us the biggest grin. Such a sweet sweet boy and SO very easy going! He's started cooing some and when he gets excited just starts pumping his legs! He's also an AWESOME sleeper (unlike Mason was and just is like his daddy!) he started sleeping thru the night at 7 weeks old (about 2 weeks ago maybe?) he went from waking every 3-4 hours to sleeping 7-8 hour stretches. beautiful. now Gavin and I just argue about who has to get up to feed him since we don't have to take shifts anymore.
He is just such a sweet baby, and so easy going which is good because the girls at school adore him. The twins (both girls) in Mason's class are just so fascinated with Maddox, they're constantly pointing to him and saying, Baby or Mason's baby, Baby Madduh...(funny none of the 2 year olds can say Maddox yet). Today after school we were out on the playground letting the 4 stooges (the twins, Mason & Jackson- they're all in class together, good buddies, and their Moms & I get along really well- we're *THOSE* school moms :-) haha) anyway, they were off playing and i pulled out Maddox's bottle to feed him & next thing you know both Brooke & Presley are helping me hold the bottle. Little girls are so helpful!! I bet they wouldn't be so helpful if it was their brother! They can come help me any day LOL
While we were sitting outside another one of Mason's classmates, Jayden was outside playing on the playground and he came up and was very curious about Maddox who was sleeping in his baby carrier covered up. Jayden took a peek at Maddox and said very quietly, "baby sleeping!" then he went on telling me about the choo choo trains on Maddox's blanket while he sat there finishing up his caprisun drink he kept peeking in on Maddox. So I asked him, "Jayden, do you want a baby brother?" (knowing his mom & grandmom were sitting right close by) and Jayden says in a loud very concerned voice, "NO! No baby!!!!" Jayden's mom agreed. haha For most people with having Maddox around, they want a baby or another baby. he tends to feed that baby fever in most, but not all I guess!

Changes
So I've finally come to terms with something. Since Maddox has been born I'm never happy with my hair. Its too thick (waiting on that 4 month post partum shed to come!), its too dark (last color wasn't light enough for me. My normal stylist had her baby the day before I had Maddox, so thank goodness she's back to work now!), and i just dont like my current cut (note to self call Mirabel to make appt) so it's always pulled back or up. I debate about going shorter or going longer, keep growing out my bangs or cut shorter again, and if I should go burnette or go brighter blonde (none of this dirty blonde in between stuff anymore!)
I'm always thinking, ugh I have nothing to wear (except jeans and t shirts- if they're clean i'm lucky)....I've come to the sad realization that no matter the changes I'm not going to be happy. Its not the cut or the new clothes I need. I NEED a new body!
I'm carrying around 10 lbs of baby weight still- and then another 30 that i need to get rid of too! (at least.)
SO i've finally bought the 30 day shred video last week at Target when it went on sale. and it's still sitting on the counter in the package. i REALLy need to make/find time to commit. maybe i should do that instead of blog. but then you won't have anything to read!
I feel my motivation building!

Strong Mason
For quite sometime now you can ask Mason, "Where's strong Mason?" and he'll flex and say 'grrrrrr' like he's a muscle man.
Funny thing that when I take Mason to school in the mornings he wants to be carried in instead of walking in (like he used to!) and every morning our conversation goes like this,
"Don't you want to walk like a big boy?"
he replies with "NO. I carry you."
I always laugh and say, "I don't think you're quite strong enough for that yet."
"I strong Mason!" (and he flexes.)
wonder when the confusion of i/me/you/we/us will work out!

Allergy Update
I completely forgot to update about Mason's allergy report! We got the results back last week, they're good and bad- the new allergist called me last monday morning and I was in a total funk for the rest of the day after that, okay rather just a rotten mood. It takes a LOT for me to get into a rotten mood or to even seem pessimistic (that's just not me by nature!) Basically what she told me was:
1. all his outside allergies are still the same. (I wasn't expecting these to change. we live in texas- who's not allergic to our outside to some degree?) I tell Gavin we're allergic to Texas and the only cure might be to move to the beach. I wonder if my dad would buy that- we could live in his beach house and be squatters. Not sure how well that would go over. haha...oh yes...allergy results....so basically just keep up with the zyrtec if needed, but more than anything use the nasonex daily (hadn't been doing that)
2. Food allergies have DRAMATICALLY dropped. (THANK YOU LORD!) over the past year I've become a complete food nazi with label reading, finding alternative recipes, new food ideas that Mason can eat, not to mention grow eyes in the back of my head- i have a radar to things that go in his mouth when he's within 50 feet of me (i'm serious on this- I've surprised people what I see him try to eat or grab from other kids!). Just a reminder he has food allergies to Corn, wheat and soy. not severe like Gavin (beans/peas will land gavin in the hospital) Mason not so much- he has what you call a delayed reaction- its nasty thick green congestion that will set in within a few days after and also the itchy excema that when he eats something he's not supposed to - he will itch it so bad, the spot will dry out, crack bleed, itch some more, infect it...you get the idea. But, from my hardwork of self education on his food allergies (more on this later) and being a food nazi mixed with a lot of prayers for Mason- his results show that he is infact still testing 'postive' for these allergies, however she said the numbers have come WAY down and she also thinks that if we test again when Mason turns 3 (all the while staying with his diet we've been on) he should test 'negative' for these allergies. A few added things- the allergist we previous saw told us that he did test positive for peanut allergies, but it might not be a true allergy considering he was only 14 months old then, kids under 3 should stay away from peanuts and also kids with allergies are prone to peanut allergies too. New allergist said the peanut # went up (even though we stayed away from it) so she thinks it just might be a true allergy (but we'll know more next year) and also a NEW one popped up this year - sesame seeds. strange! so if anything we keep away from nuts!!
3. the kicker that got me was the indoor allergies. Mason also tested positive last year for pet dander- more specifically cats. We have 2 cats- Sabai and Sanuk. Yes they can drive me nuts, but i love them. I adopted them almost 11 years ago while living in Bangkok, Thailand. Old allergist told us to not get rid of them, if anything he can build a tolerance to it. Didn't quite get what we were hoping for- his allergy # went up with cats. new allergist said ideal situation is for us to get rid of Sabai, Sanuk AND shelby. NOT AN OPTION. first off, my cats are 11 years old, shelby will be 8 this year- this is their home and what they know. When i adopt & love an animal its for life! 2nd of all- if we got rid of them- his tolerance (of what little he has) would drop, and EVERY house we go to has pets. Dee & Tony (Gavin's parents) have 2 cats, Gavin's grandparents have 2 cats, my sister has a cat, my dad has 2 dogs, Sara has 2 dogs, Kristin has 2 dogs.....so honestly we wouldn't be able to go to ANY family or friends houses because of pets. So getting rid of our beloved animals would do more harm than good i truly believe. Lastly, i think we have the ideal home situation if having pets- we have wood floors, very few area rugs, leather furniture that gets wiped down, the dyson vacuum specifically for pet hair, we vacuum every other day, we have a housekeeper who comes in 2x monthly, and the pets are not allowed in any of the bedrooms period. Now if we could just get Mason to stop loving on Sanuk we'll be good! We do need to get a hepa filter air purifier in the house (not cheap) but I do think that will help some as well. So obviously we're doing all we can to make it the ideal situation. I already know that when the day comes that my cats pass on, we won't replace them with other cats, not sure if another cat can top Sanuk's sweet personality or Sabai's bipolar attitude. (he screams at me yet is such a loverboy too). and not to mention Shelby is hands down the best dog i've ever owned. She had a little Marley (think Marley & me book/movie) in her when she was a pup (escape artist, chewed up TONS of shoes, belts, clothing, doors...just to name a few) but over the past 6 years she has turned into an awesome dog and the best pet possible for Mason- I can't praise her enough for patience she has with him and just a laid back personality!
So anyway, this last bit of news put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day, not sure if it was so much the news but someone TELLING me to get rid of our pets. Gavin and I talked about it and prayed about it and feel that what we're doing is our best possible option and just pray that within the next couple of years Mason's immunity will go up and he will continue to grow out of the food allergies! So maybe at Maddox's 1st birthday party Mason can enjoy an actual REAL birthday cake :-)

Not helping!
A few weeks back we took pictures of the boys in the bluebonnets so we could put together something for Maddox's birth announcements (FINALLY going out on Monday!) towards the end of our bluebonnet time, Mason started being a toot and not listening, so of course I had to give him a task. Helping Daddy. Daddy wasn't so happy with his idea of helping! haha
Hold it here?

New Header!
FINALLY! :-) Maddox has only been apart of our family for 2+ months now.... all of you Google readers must stop by and take a peek!!
Diaper Funny
I ran to Target today after I was done with work (PS- it's kinda scary doing a wedding set up & carrying wrought iron candelabras INTO a church during a storm with lightning! I can just see the headlines now....) anyway, i needed diapers for Mason so I ran into Target. Should have gone yesterday since most people do their shopping on the weekends, the big box of Luvs were out, so I had to get a smaller package and they were also out of his Huggies overnight diapers, so I opted for the Huggies overnight pull ups (hope they work!) since they were in Mason's size and all & I didn't really feel like treking over to walmart in the rain during dinnertime. Didn't look close at the package, just grabbed Mason's size and went to check out. Got home, cooked dinner and got Mason ready for bed. He was having fun playing with the packages of diapers, so i pulled one out and said "look they're big boy diapers!" Mason replied with "PINK DIAPERS!!!!!" Yes, apparently huggies makes girl and boys pull ups (someone didn't educate me on these!!) i didn't think the little girl on the front of the package mattered since usually the baby on the regular package of diapers you can't tell is a boy OR girl.
So Mason was REALLY excited to wear a pink diaper to bed tonight with a Disney princess on front (and the next 39 nights too). in his defense he was ALSO very very excited to wear his new fire truck jammies to bed too!! haha

Another Mason conversation
The other day i listened to Mason have a conversation with Maddox- it was too cute.
He climbed up in the leather chair where we keep Maddox's glider and Mason perched himself on the armrest of the chair and said,
"Hi Maddy. (Maddox)
How you?
I fine. (as he pats his chest)
You wake! (he's awake)
Is jammie time? (he was still in his jammies)
go night night? (it was morning)
You no go bye bye with Mommy. I go bye bye. I go school!
Bye Maddy (Maddox)"

Jealous!
When I still lived at home about 7 years ago, I decided I'd try my hand at gardening (not so good) which is funny because I can arrange flowers no problem, but gardening is not my talent for sure. i think its the commitment! haha Well anyway, my parents had this deck built by the pool, there was a small 2' X 6' area that was made into a planter- i planted some peonies there and every year the plant would come up on its own (remember that I don't water plants! haha) I lived there for 2 years before my parents sold the house to my sister. I've heard it takes 5 years for peony plants to mature and produce any blooms. Well here it is 7 years later and my plant has finally done its job! (and no Amy doesnt garden either!)
