Stickerman

Whenever I let mason play with stickers sometimes I worry he'll do this to his brother instead of himself!

Fun times at Papa's

We always have a good time at my dad's when we all get together & grill & swim. Amy snapped some cute pictures of the kids swimming with Josh & Papa tonight. She also made some awesome chili to top Gavin's yummy burgers! I can't wait until next summer when Maddox will really be able to join in on the fun :)

Wanna be my cheerleader?

FINALLY doing something for MYSELF. and the dog.
started going to my dad's chiropractor about 2-3 weeks ago. Cant remember why, but one morning crawling out of bed i could barely stand- had some BAD lower back pain. I've had bad lower back pain while pregnant with Mason AND Maddox and didn't do anything about it in between. so anytime i've attempted to work out even with lots of stretching my knees and hips will ACHE during if not right after, and i'll regret it the next day. I'll just say after going to see Dr. Wright, it's the best $ I've spent on myself in a long while! I'm not even going to go into detail of how out of whack I was, but I've had tremendous relief just in the past few weeks!
I've had the urge to start working out again- I'm done birthing babies, so I don't need to look like I still am anymore! I've got a long ways to go. 10 lbs of baby weight and I'd be absolutely thrilled if I could drop 30 on top of that. WOW that sounds like a lot- 40 lbs!!! I'm going to start with 10 lbs as my 1st goal. I eat healthy (okay yes i need more veggies, lettuce is not a great source of nutrients, it's more just rabbit food.) I'm active running after kids and staying busy with work, but it's not enough, i need to be overall healthier. I know I'm overweight and I'm going to fix that NOW while I'm still young! We recently quit our gym membership which i was sad about, however it wasn't getting used, and we could really use that $100/month elsewhere! So I decided that's not going to stop me, I've got running shoes, a sidewalk outside and the best walking/jogging partner there is- my dog. She'll pace right with me and when I say "GO!" she'll sprint with me as far as I can make it. we turn a corner on our route just before our house, when we turn that corner, i'll take her off the leash and we race from there home, i think it's Shelby's favorite part. Best part of all- it's also a stress reliever, which is what I really need right now too!
So this is what I started last night after the kids went down. Did that again tonight. My goal right now, is 4 times a week and I'd like to mix in some yoga the other nights too. Last night i walked a lot, jogged a little. Tonight I still walked a lot, but jogged more too. Feels good, but boy are my shins burning!
What made me jump start this 28 year old body? I have a sweet, cute, adorable ALMOST 6 month old who has every reason to be cute and CHUBBY- but I DONT!

Nurgets

that's what Mason ate for dinner tonight. Chicken Nurgets as he called it. Have you ever tried to look for gluten free, corn free, soy free chicken nuggets? Well don't because they're impossible to find. I tried looking 14 months ago when we started this diet for him, and it was a fail. So he just eats a lot of baked and grilled chicken instead. I could dip chicken in egg and potato flour and bake the chicken that way, HOWEVER we're supposed to stay away from eggs until 3 because of his other allergies. can you see where I'm going with this?

So anyway, I got in my head tonight that I wanted Hooters boneless wings for dinner (minus spending the $20 on dinner) and I just so happened to be watching Food Network today and Sandra Lee made this: Buffalo Poppers
Don't bother making them because they were not that great. too spicy and too tangy, not much flavor. I was disappointed. I'll attempt my own recipe next time. Or just pay $20 for a hooters dinner.
ANYWAY, since i had the chicken out when i was fixing our dinner, I was contemplating what Mason could have. If we can't all have the same food, then I try and make something similar for him. SO i got out the rice chex, finely crumbled the cereal, mixed in a little salt & pepper, garlic powder and paprika and threw the cubed chicken in the 'bread crumbs'- I baked them at 350 degrees for 20 minutes & they came out PERFECT! Mason ate a TON and even waited another 20 minutes for the rest to bake and ate all those too! SCORE!
GO MOM! GO MOM! GO MOM! ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY. (not really.)
Have to say, Mason & I both thought I was pretty awesome tonight! then Again......he also decided to dip his watermelon into sour cream AND ketchup tonight. (ew.)
