Mummy's Boy
Happy Halloween! Mason was a Mummy since he's a MUMMY'S BOY. HAHA, funny I know! Amy joked around that he looked like a roll of toilet paper. She said if you added chocolate- he'd look like a terd. :( Not nice! I was trying to be creative so I just wrapped shredded Cheesecloth all around him! We went and walked the block with Amy, Chris & Rilee in the wagon, handed out some candy to the few kids that came to our door, then went to our neighbors and hung out with them for a while. Overall we had a great night and Mason went to bed way too late!
I'm raising a Bully apparently.
not intentionally of course! Last night we went to our Church's fall festival with my friend Jenny and her baby Jillian. We put the babies in our new Red wagon (where were these things when I was a kid?? it has 2 seats and seatbelts and cupholders!) Anyway, little Jillian was content with her paci. Mason gave up his paci long time ago and sucks on his thumb. Apparently he thinks all other babies need to give it up too. He kept pulling it outta her mouth and smiling- and of course it would make poor Jillian cry!! I kept telling him NO and trying to get him to understand, but he just kept at it he thought it was funny!! Oy- little monster!

Patty Cake
This is a game that Granma Dee has played with Mason for sometime now (even helps put him to sleep apparently) well Dee I think you'd like to know when Mason woke up this morning, I found him in his bed playing Patty Cake by himself! LOL He was sitting there clapping his hands (patty cake part), Rolling his hands around (roll it) -then I really dont know the rest of Granma Dee's words/version to patty cake- but he puts his arms up in the air (i think its plenty for Mason & Me)...needless to say it was a cute way to wake up!

Amazing Amish Countryside and Buggy

The Angry Amish (he really did look angry....at least very unhappy!!)

An Old Amish Dude

I feel sorry for the person who has to sweep up that mess!

Amish Chicks...."This Amish chick walks into a restaurant..." No really that's how my story starts (HAHA!) I will forever have this memory engrained in my brain. We went into this great Amish restaurant and as we stood there waiting for our table in walks some Amish women, there I stand in jeans, a long sleeved trendy t shirt of some sort, make up and of course sportin' my converse. I'm holding Mason as he's dressed in some shirt with funny saying and shorts along with his Faux Hawk. Behind me stood an Amish girl about my age, could be younger- holding a baby about Mason's age, maybe a year old or so. The Amish girl is dressed in traditional dark dress and white bonnet, and her baby is dressed very similar. As i stood there I wished that someone would have snapped a picture it was funny just to compare how different we were! Funny thing, as i stood there, the first thing that came to my mind was "She definitely didn't have that baby in a hospital with an epidural!" HAHAHA!
PS- good to know they use car seats...I wondered about that! hahaahaha! There's that darn mommy thing....

The Pumpkin Paparazzi
Thats what we called ourselves. We made our annual trip down the street to the Hall Pumpkin Farm. I love this place. Every year they do more and more. They have so much to do there! There's the pumpkins of course, hay rides, a corn maze, face painting, fresh kettle corn, tractor rides, hay houses and the playground...really Mason can't do any of that yet besides sitting on the tractor! Next year I know he'll have a blast!
We met up with Amy, Chris, Rilee & Josh and got lots of cute baby photos- I'm sure we'll end up there again this week sometime!
Enjoy!

Another trip! OHIO!
Can't believe its been so long since my last post! Where has time gone!!
We made our way up to Ohio early this month for the week to surprise Granpa Tony for his 60th Birthday! He was surprised to say the least! This was Mason's 3rd trip out of state and he did really good as usual! He got to meet the rest of his family and charmed them all of course with his good looks and flirty smile! We had a good trip, and not enough pictures! Unfortunately the hot weather followed us up to Ohio, so the leaves were just starting to change colors, but we didn't get to see the full on color change of the trees- hopefully next year!
So what did we do in Ohio besides surprise Granpa? We ate, ate and ate more food! I think even Mason came back 5 lbs heavier!! We got to spend alot of time with family and relaxing. One of the highlights of the trip for me was getting to drive through Amish Country- i LOVED it! I'm ready to go back to Amish land. Those people know how to cook! (and build beautiful houses too!and make beautiful things) We had a great drive thru Holmes County (seriously a BEAUTIFUL DRIVE!) I got to snap a lot of pictures out of the backseat of the car (I call these my "drive by shootings") of lots of Barns & Buggies! The Amish don't like their photos being taken, so I had to be quick! Their ways of life just amaze me- I could really spend a whole week down there just watching them and eating their food! (I think even Gavin misses it...he's asked me to make some Pumpkin roll!) I'm still regretting not buying the beautiful quilt I saw in Berlin, OH..maybe we can make it back there next year and I can find it again! :-( I knew I would regret not buying that quilt!!
Anyway, we're back home and back to our regular routines again, I've survived the biggest wedding of my career so far and just recooperated, and now Mason got hit with another viral infection AGAIN. We're going back to the pediatrician's office tomorrow morning, so hopefully we can get this knocked out of his system for GOOD! he just hasn't been himself this week with not feeling good poor baby. He's also teething like crazy again, his 8th tooth should be cutting anyday now, so hopefully he'll feel better once that happens! Mason is still crawling up a storm and pulling up on everything, including the dog! No walking as of yet, thank goodness- I'm not ready for that! I have caught him standing on his own twice now which scares me!
For now, enjoy my Amish Country photos!

Hello and Bye-Bye
Mason is always coming and going now....this kid never sits still! There's very few times where he'll just sit and relax with me (those are glorious moments!) thankfully i can still cuddle with my baby when I rock him to sleep! WIthin the past month Mason has started waving "Bye Bye" but it was at random times, now he's REALLY caught on and waves hello and bye bye to everyone....except MOM! Apparently he doesnt like to see me go Bye Bye, so he doesnt wave to me! Its okay though, I understand. If i were him, I'd love to hang out with me all day long too! ;-P
We had a nice weekend- nothing very exciting all weekend, except yesterday at church (we attend Gateway in Southlake) Mason was dedicated! Basically, it was a promise for Gavin and I to raise Mason with God's Love and understanding and to raise him with God's guidance (I'm sure I'll be praying for strength when he gets older! LOL) anyway, it was important to us to do this as parents. We had some wonderful friends join us and be apart of the service- Sara and Baby Hendrix and also Kristin, Jesse and Lucas. It meant alot they were there with us and to celebrate his dedication! (I'll upload photos soon!)
Another exciting Sunday News- My friend Tara had her baby! Yeah! Tara is Tiffany's younger sister, and poor thing has been walking around dialated at 4 cm with contractions for over a week now! Tara and Mark were keeping the gender a surprise, I was convinced she was having a boy...but NOPE, of COURSE it was a girl! That crazy family of theirs is OVERLY Blessed with Girls! Baby Lily was born at 2:48pm 8 lbs 1 oz and 21 inches tall! (I think she might have her daddy's height!) So Congrats to Tara and Mark on their new baby girl and Wren to her baby sister! And Congrats to Maddy and Mo on your new cousin! I joke that Mason is surrounded by so many girls, he'll have his pick one day! :-P

A new 1st and 7th!
Mason has been eating Chicken lately and really lovin' it, so I gave him his first try of McDonald's Chicken Nuggets (yah not a great 1st right! haha!) but he LOVED it so much, he ate 3! I think he was so full his little belly button became and outtie!
AND i noticed today he cut his 7th tooth! (bottom left 2nd tooth) looks like he cut it earlier this week so that means the right tooth of his 2nd bottom set will come pretty soon!
WHat's he up to? EVERYTHING! IN everything, pullling up on EVERYTHING and ALL over the place! He's super fast with crawling! He now knows what No No means, but he laughs at us when we tell him! Boy are we in trouble!!

Mason's new Do!
yes we kept the faux hawk! Its his signature hair do! His hawk had gotten so tall, i measured its height one day, it measured 3" tall and then some!! Everywhere we go people comment on his hawk! AND HE KNOWS IT! this past sunday morning, Gavin and I were getting ready for church in the bathroom, Mason was playing on the floor. He started getting whiney, so as I finished up, I picked him up and said, "time to do your hair!" i got my hands wet and styled his hawk and as soon as daddy put the gel on his tips Mason looked in the mirror, grinned and started 'coo-ing' at himself!! He even gave himself the eyebrow sayin' 'you are one good lookin' fella!!' He knows he looks good in the hawk!
Its gotten so outta control (see previous post and photos) so we decided to get his first hair cut yesterday! We are having Mason dedicated at church on Sunday, so we thought a trim might be appropriate! We went to 'Cool cuts for kids' in Southlake and Mason got to sit in this fun yellow car, he did so good! He sat SO still and even flirted with his hair stylist a little..i think he really enjoyed his first hair cut! They took a little memoir photo and put some of his hair in a little do-dad to save for his baby book, ironically the hair saved was from his faux hawk!
