Every trip we take I give myself a little photo assignment. During a recent bathroom break (thank you mr kidney stone for overhydrating myself) I really thought I'd be done with this before going to CA. not necessarily, still going on. SO i thought (being funny here) my photo assignment might be "the restrooms of Orange County". So you might see a few interesting photos from my iphone if you check my tumblr pictures.
I've come to realize that traveling is not the expensive part of trip taking. It's the pre-travel trip to Wal-Mart or Target. So much for souvenir money for any of you. Oh wait, I wasn't going to get you anything anyway. You can just check out my pictures ;-) I plan on bringing back a tan, a 5 lb heavier husband, and maybe a few things from the Orange County swap meet, and lots of pictures!
I've also come to realize I have a bad bad bad addiction. So i've clearly overcome my sew disability if you've kept up with my tumblr pictures. I'm having too much fun with it. No joke today I was making a gift and I thought...."awe man..I can't do anything crafty until next week!" and YES i'm guilty for the thought crossing my mind of my sewing machine COULD be my carry on. But it didn't get the best of me thankfully, as i know I probably won't have much time anyway as I'll be running to the bathroom every 30 minutes! So no more creations from april for the next week, but you'll see plenty of cute babies on the beach photos!
Gavin is counting down the hours until he gets to eat Imperial Burger. Jennifer if you read this- don't ask- you'd probably FAIL them on their health inspection! LOL but dang are their taquitos and special green sauce GOOOOOOD. I'm counting down the time to see our good friends and all their GIRLS. Heather now has 3, Cathy has 2 and another on the way. Boy oh boy do Mason and Maddox have their pick one day, huh? ;-)

Where have i been?
Well, long story short. I've been here a whole lot more lately than usual!

Okay not this one specifically, but my own clean indoor bathroom!! I just thought this was funny.
little over a week ago, i had some SERIOUS pain in my right side, couldnt handle it anymore so I finally gave in and let Gavin take me to the ER (2nd time i had the pain in a week) ends up i have a nice 4.7mm kidney stone in my right kidney (which is now in my bladder) and 3X 1.2mm stones in my left. Not so concerned about those- but more the larger one. Dr said i have a 60% chance of passing it on my own. I have a urologist appt when we come back from CA, but I'm really hoping and praying it'll be gone before that! Plus I only have 2 darvocet pills left and i don't plan on taking the Hydrocodone again (EVER.) that they prescribed me.
SO what have i tried to get rid of it naturally?
1. 2 oz of lemon juice & 2 oz of olive oil- shake and drink. Its not as bad as it sounds if you have super ripe lemons. I did this twice- i do think it helped flush it out of my kidney. Probably a little TMI, but I've been passing some crud (but no stone yet) in the last few days, so I'm hoping that the stone could be breaking down and that's what I'm seeing.
2. Phosphoric Acid (Dr Pepper) followed by Watermelon. Strange? not sure if i read right today- but it's what I tried. HAHA. hey if it doesnt work, then i just had a nice pick me up followed by some nice watermelon. BUT hey in my defense- Caffeine does make you urinate more frequently, and watermelon does help hydrate you, so maybe something is good there.
3. Water water water. I cant tell you how much water I've been drinking. maybe its still not enough. I love water. not so much right now anymore! I'm actually kind of tired of it, so i've been adding lemon (which is supposed to be good!) to help flush my system.
After all this i REALLY need a DETOX. Anyone have any good suggestions? between the morphine, zofran, and something else they gave me in the ER for anti inflammatory, ALONG with taking antibiotics, hydrocodone (only 1 and no more of that!), the anti nausea meds (for hydrocodone), and the darvocet (that's the main one i had been taking for pain) I think I need to get all the junk out of my system! That will be on my to do list when we come back from CA!

Playdate!
Mason went over to the twins' house the week before last and had an absolute BLAST. He's been asking to go back to Presley's house ever since! Here's some fun photos for their splash day!
Lovin' the pink scooter!
Being a typical boy. hitting things with a stick.
Here is all four of them- they piled ALL the toys by the sprinkler to fill them with water- must've been fun!
Mason hogging the pink scooter again!
Dede (twins' mom) said that water + sidewalk chalk=VERY messy. Note to self- not at our house! ;-)
Look who Mason is sitting next to! Sweet little Presley. I'm throughly convinced he has a crush on her! Thankfully no kissin' yet though!
Thanks for the great photos Dede!

Crafty Mommy!
FInally put Mason's lightswitch plates for his room back up. Decided I didn't like the yucky 1988 Ivory switch plates, so I did a quick upgrade. Sandpaper+modge podge+ fabric=supa cute!! (excuse the bad quality photos!)
I am PROUD TO SAY, I've almost overcome my sewing disability! (i still have a few kinks i need to figure out on my mom's sewing machine) but I've figured out mine pretty good and made a few things! I made Maddox a new playmat. Something I can just throw on the floor for him to lay on and also something that can go outside and not worry about it getting too dirty. It's been great! love it!
My good friend Adrianne is having a baby girl in August and I went to her baby shower this morning. I was so excited for her shower. She's a Momma of 2 boys, so having a girl is a big excitement for her! I challanged myself to make her gift (and everyone loved it!) I found a super cute fabric that would match her nursery theme and I made a big playmat (like Maddox's) but with ribbon attached so it can be rolled up and held together with the ribbon. Also made a lap pad/burp cloth that matched, a portable changing pad, 2 super cute onsies with rhinestones (one had flowers, the other said "Miss August" since that'll be her birth month) and also some letters for her nursery to hang on the wall! I had so much fun making the gifts for her, and I know she loved them just as much as I did! I wish I got a picture, oh well! Finally got my new iphone so I have a working camera phone again :0)
No one challenges me better than myself, and I did just that with the sewing- I can't wait to see what future projects I come up with!!! My mom would be so proud :-D

I am on a Mission.
If you're female, you should know what I'm talking about. You go shopping and you have something specific in mind. You go store to store quickly eyeing over the store in hopes of finding the exact item you have pictured in your mind. Unfortunately, in my case it's not a pair of cute shoes or handbag or shirt.
It's one of these.

I want a LARGE (like 30") cast Metal old Letter M in Red for Mason's room. I think it might finish it off. His room is vintage license plates with a slight undertone of Route 66- not necessarily that kind of stuff, but i want things on his wall that might give an impression of vintage elements of Route 66.
I'm afraid I might have to make a drive out to the next Canton trade days. I love Canton. the pavillion shopping is fun, but more than anything i LOVE LOVE LOVE the back area where people just sell their junk. I'm in hog heaven there. SO unless someone had a direction to point me to find me one of these letters elsewhere...Gavin is just gonna have to suck it up and let me get in my element for a day! ha!

Count down to Vacation!
In a little over a week, We're going on Vacation!!!!! for 6 days I will have an auto response to my emails and voicemails and not answer any client emails or phone calls. I will be just Mom and Wife. ON vacation. Most vacations end up being working vacations for us being self employed. not this time.
In a litle over a week, We will be HERE: (but a little closer to the water. hee hee. okay more like on the water.)
I have a rather extensive to do list. it involves: (click where you read "HERE")
1. Eating HERE.
2. Going HERE.
3. Eating one of these on Balboa Island while shopping. (Frozen banana)

4. Spend time with these lovely ladies. Except my sis- she won't be there. Heather & Cathy are like sisters to me and I cannot make a trip out to CA without seeing them! One of my boys WILL marry one of their girls so we can finally truly be family! ;-_

5. Play on this beach with my boys

6. Enjoy this view on my morning walk:

7. Blog from this patio:

8. Shop HERE
9. Enjoy THIS.
We always have such a blast going to CA, this'll be our first family vacation of 4- I'm sure it'll be work toting along an infant, but Mason has gotten to SUCH a fun age and my Dad's house is so amazing- there's never been a time that we don't enjoy our selves, our good friends and good food!

That Face
Y'all know Maddox. Sweet Baby Maddox. Oh how he can make me melt with a little grin.
What a personality he's developing.
He's been busy looking for that thumb of his.
He's been busy watching brother Mason, and learning allllllll about him!
He watches us so very close. He's the quiet observer.
OH those eyes. I feel they can see right thru to my soul! Those eyes can only see the best in me.
And that smile. That FACE. makes the worst of days better!
What a personality he's developing.

#52

Reason #52 why I don't post many pictures of myself. God Bless my Mom. She was an awesome Mom. But WHAT is with those shorts??? Could she even bend over in THOSE? okay, nevermind. I don't want to know! My mom was a good sport she just laughed when we made fun of her clothes in old pictures.
Anyone who knows me knows I'm REALLY good at embarrassing myself. very easily in fact. At least I can laugh at myself right? BUT who knows where pictures posted on the internet will be 20 years from now. So I'm just saving myself the embarrassment NOW from the future. I just MIGHT post some here soon enough, but they will mommy approved. HAHA
Now WHO could that adorable baby be????? Just look at those ears.....poor Mason inherited my ears that everyone would just die to have! ;)
Note to Amy- we need to find a curly brown wig for you- looking at this picture I think you look a lot like Mom here in the face!
Goldfish
no, no new pets thankfully. this is just showing you how my attention has been lately. maybe because i have TOO many things on my brain at once, I can't hold them all.
I have come to terms that God made 2 mistakes when he had Eve become a mom (okay maybe it WAS partially payback for eating the forbidden fruit.)
1. How great would it be if when we became parents that we just didn't require sleep anymore? That would be awesome. I can't even imagine how much stuff I would have done. I might even have time to read a book! or do laundry!!! yes....sadly, these are the things I think of when I wake up at 5 am (not from a baby waking up because he DOESNT!) with a to do list in my head!
ps- YES i know how blessed I am to have a 3 month old sleeping 12 hours at night, BELIEVE ME I cherish it!!!!
2. okay I did have a 2nd, but now I've forgotten what it was. Is that sad? Yes. Lately I feel like I have an attention span of a gold fish!
What have we been doing? Stuff. NON STOP. We've got a new routine we're trying to get into- Mason's been going to MDO 2 times a week for summer session- so on the off days 2 times a week he's going to his friend Jackson's house and having a BLAST playing in the sandbox and playing with all of Jackson's trucks. We scored with getting one of the infant teachers to watch both boys since everyone is out of school on those days. Mondays has been our zoo day with Jackson, his mommy, the twins, their mommy and another friend. I think next week we're taking a day off! LOL Not only was i beat yesterday after only 3 hours, but I think I came down with some allergy crud, because I have felt terrible since then! Did I mention that I had 3 weddings over the weekend? And a baby shower I hosted for a friend? Oh don't forget Josh's birthday party too. PHEW i'm beat, just typing that.. And yet here I sit at 11:13 pm BLOGGING.
Oh yes, and don't forget my love/hate relationship with www.etsy.com This website just might be the death of me. or my bank account. or my relationship with my blissful bed. Hence the reason why i start projects that I shouldn't be doing at 10:30 pm. Etsy is the devil. In the form of a website. it has tenticles like an octopus or a giant squid. And it wraps its arms around me and sucks me down down down into the ever fluid rapids of creativity. Ahhhh that's the hooker, the possibility of having a drain for my creative juices. until tomorrow that is.
SO thank my mom for my wild imagination and creativity.
oh...that reminds me of another post.

Celebrity Sighting!
SO my friend Kristin (who's a wedding coordinator) had a wedding in Dallas last night and one of the guests was George W Bush. I thought that was pretty cool.
I got to trump her celebrity sighting today. JONAS BROTHERS at CHURCH!
I knew their Mom goes to Gateway, but didn't think they'd ever go, seems to be they're always on tour or something. So it was pretty cool seeing some of our local celebrities! Gavin always drops me off on the side door closest to Maddox's nursery so I can take him in and then Mason, then Gavin comes and finds me- we generally sit in the same area all the time. So when I'm walking in, there's a kid and his dad standing at the door, as I walk in with an infant carseat in one arm and Mason in the other (who insisted on being held, who was also mad at me for not letting him take in his truck) so they nicely hold the door for me and I think to myself- hey that kid looks like one of the jonas brothers! but i didn't think anything of it even though i was was 18" away from his face. I get inside and check the boys in with the nursery check in system and turn around there is ALL 3 of them walking in. I thought---OOH! i guess it is!!!! Maddox's nursery lady who must be in her 60's or so even said, "oh you didn't know they go here?" HAHA. she showed me!
so of course after dropping Mason off- i had to call Sara before walking into the sanctuary to tell her and get my teenage star struck giddy-ness all out! HAHA Gavin just rolled his eyes at me but he thought it was pretty cool...I'm sure haha. They walked in RIGHT as the worship service was starting (i'm sure the church knew they were coming and prob. saved the row for them, because finding half a row available at the 10:45 service is unreal!) So we found 2 seats, same row just other side of the section and i'm sure word spread like wild fire. no one bothered them or anything, but as we got our seats there was a mom, dad and pre-teen girl in front of us & looks like her mom just told her, she turned around to look and i said, "YES, they really ARE here. i walked in with them." And I kid you NOT, her EYES popped out of her HEAD! she kept trying to look over during the service, it cracked me up.
After the service was over, i knew they'd be out early, sure enough, they all snuck out during the closing prayer. I looked back and they were standing by the side door waiting for their mom who was at the offering box- after they let us out, the girl in front of us was practically pushing her dad out of the way. We walked out the same door just as she was walking up to them (surprised they were still there!)- so I bet today was the highlight of her short 12-13 years of life! She probably just about peed her pants!!
Funny thing- after the worship service, but before the sermon the worship leader always says to turn around and greet your neighbors- there were 2 girls (probably teenage or so) in front of the Jonas Brothers) so could you imagine being ONE of those girls and turning around to shake someones hand and see them? I joked to Gavin, those 2 girls probably thought they DIED and went to HEAVEN! HAHAHA we didn't hear any screaming, and no paramedics turned up, so I'm guessing they survived that shock.
Pretty cool celebrity sighting for me!!! Now my sister gets to go brag to her middle school girl students tomorrow who will be WAY JEALOUS!!!!! ;-p
