A new 1st and 7th!

Mason has been eating Chicken lately and really lovin' it, so I gave him his first try of McDonald's Chicken Nuggets (yah not a great 1st right! haha!) but he LOVED it so much, he ate 3! I think he was so full his little belly button became and outtie!
AND i noticed today he cut his 7th tooth! (bottom left 2nd tooth) looks like he cut it earlier this week so that means the right tooth of his 2nd bottom set will come pretty soon!
WHat's he up to? EVERYTHING! IN everything, pullling up on EVERYTHING and ALL over the place! He's super fast with crawling! He now knows what No No means, but he laughs at us when we tell him! Boy are we in trouble!!

Mason's new Do!

yes we kept the faux hawk! Its his signature hair do! His hawk had gotten so tall, i measured its height one day, it measured 3" tall and then some!! Everywhere we go people comment on his hawk! AND HE KNOWS IT! this past sunday morning, Gavin and I were getting ready for church in the bathroom, Mason was playing on the floor. He started getting whiney, so as I finished up, I picked him up and said, "time to do your hair!" i got my hands wet and styled his hawk and as soon as daddy put the gel on his tips Mason looked in the mirror, grinned and started 'coo-ing' at himself!! He even gave himself the eyebrow sayin' 'you are one good lookin' fella!!' He knows he looks good in the hawk!
Its gotten so outta control (see previous post and photos) so we decided to get his first hair cut yesterday! We are having Mason dedicated at church on Sunday, so we thought a trim might be appropriate! We went to 'Cool cuts for kids' in Southlake and Mason got to sit in this fun yellow car, he did so good! He sat SO still and even flirted with his hair stylist a little..i think he really enjoyed his first hair cut! They took a little memoir photo and put some of his hair in a little do-dad to save for his baby book, ironically the hair saved was from his faux hawk!

Crazy Hair

Sorry for no update in some time, we had another round of sickness run through our house! a few weeks ago a stomach bug or something knocked us all down, and we barely recovered from that before some viral infection knocked us on our butts! Mason seems all better now, just a runny nose left and I'm on the tail end of it! I'm so sick of being sick!
Enough of sickness, we got Mason's first hair cut yesterday! but before showing THOSE cute pictures- here is WHY Mason got his first hair cut at 9 months old! its CRAZY HAIR! his poor little faux hawk had trouble staying up without curling over and his sides were getting so crazy, i was afraid that he was going to look like 'Earl' from the 'My name is Earl' tv show! Anyway, here's a few cute pictues of Mr. Mason about a month & half ago or so with spagetti and crazy hair!

Momma's New Do!

FInally got a hair cut yesterday and decided I'd try and be trendy- so I cut bangs! Thats right, i haven't had bangs since 6TH GRADE!!! trying the whole side swept bangs, still trying to 'train' them right now and get used to the new hair style. still the same length...quick pic of me and Mason with messy hair! His hair has gotten SO TALL i think we'll get his first cut next week! If we let it go any longer, he might have a jelly roll up top and a mullet in the back....and thats just not my baby's style!

Paci Stealer!

I've noticed Mason is a big time pacifier stealer. He doesnt suck on his paci anymore (he's a thumb sucker) and apparently he thinks everyone else should too! He steals Rilee's paci, Hendrix's paci, even Lucas' paci! Tonight we celebrated Gavin's upcoming birthday and my dad's birthday (both september bdays) while my dad is in town so after dinner we sat down with the babies and they were everywhere! Rilee is a crawler now too so enjoy the few pics...mostly of Mason trying to steal Rilee's paci!

Joys of Parenting...

Baby gets sick... Mom and Dad get sick! Mason went back to school on Friday and did pretty good. We had a nice weekend until last night Gavin came home and said he didn't feel very good. WIthin a few hours I felt the same. We had a rough night of throwing up and all even after going to bed at 9:30! thank GOD Mason slept better last night, i think he's getting back onto his good sleeping schedule. He went down about 8:30 but got up once or twice til 9:30 then slept til 5 am. Not quite sure how much sleep Gavin & I got in there! Between vomiting, bathroom stops, fever, the shakes, the chills, body aches and burning up- I was miserable! Luckily Gavin was feeling a little better this morning so he got up with Mason (funny thing he had to ask me what I do with Mason in the mornings! LOL) and we laid around most of the day til Grandpa came to the rescue and watched Mason for a couple of hours so we could get more rest! Yeah for Grandparents! Still not feeling that great- hopefully tomorrow we'll be back to 100% ourselves...taking care of a baby while being sick is NOT fun!!

Mason has had a rough day today, we had another rough night last night with throwing up (not as much though) and a power outage as well (which freaks shelby out and wakes me up!) Mason was in bed with us last night and still had his fever, which made for a restless night for all of us- the cat included. Mason broke his fever this morning just before we went to the pediatrician. We saw a pediatrician in the same practice who could fit us in, and I REALLY liked her (almost as much as our pedi! LOL) basically Mason has a cold and all the drainage (making his throat sore and red) is all going into his tummy which is making it upset and making him uncomfortable while puking up mucus. (lovely.) He's slept a TON today, which i know he needs, basically from noon til about 7:30 tonight! SO hopefully we have a better night tonight!! I'm going to keep him home from school tomorrow, but hopefully he'll be back 100% for Friday!

First Day of School!

I found a great Mother's Day out Program for Mason- its 3 days a week and the perfect hours while I work! Not to mention so close by and on my way to my office too! Today was Mason's first day! I think he had a rough day. We had a rough night last night. He has been sleeping SO GREAT lately (11- 12 hours straight at night! LOVE it!) He didnt nap very good yesterday and actually woke up a few times last night and even threw up about 3 am this morning (all over me...fun stuff..) it was very mucousy, and I've learned that each time he starts teething again, he'll get congested and tends to spit up or throw up a mucousy consistence. (lovely I know) This morning he was pretty happy and seemed fine, so I thought okay on with school we go! I took him in and got settled and we both survived (of course I thought about him most of the day!)
At 2:30 I went to pick him up and when I walked in Miss Mary was holding him and poor thing just looked pitiful. He did get a nap in, but I dont think it was good enough for him after last night. When I picked him up he felt a little warm and I think he was so exhausted he just passed out as soon as he was in my arms. Mason was asleep before I even got him in the car and basically slept for 3 hours after we got home. Wasnt a great sleep, so I laid down with him and I think that helped him sleep longer. When we woke up poor thing just wasnt comfortable and I could tell he was running a low grade fever which he almost always does when teething. I feel so bad for him from such a rough night last night and an exhausting day today. Hopefully after a good nights sleep tonight he'll be back to himself tomorrow! I know this first week will be a time for adjustment as far as school goes, so hopefully Thursday goes better!

My Monkey Mason...

Man how my little Monkey has changed just in the past week! He has learned to SQUEAL (and its LOUD) but pretty funny when he does it. He can make the dogs scatter fast! LOL Besides the new octave he has found, and crawling, he is just all over the place! I can see that mischief look in his goofy grin! This kiddo goes nuts in his walker, chasing the dogs, going in circles, running as fast as he can and see how he can slide, and also makes me jump! He likes to sneak up behind me and ram his walker into my ankles! (jump from pain!) I might need to invest in some shin guards for my ankles!!
