We all know how nuts Gavin is about cars or anything that requires gasoline. If Mason keeps going the way he's going- he may end up being a race car driver or something along the lines! For the past 6 months he's always made vvrrrrroooom vvrrrrrroooom sounds with his toy cars, etc. When Uncle Josh got him his first electric car for Christmas- Mason figured out how to make it GO in the first day. The kid is nuts about cars. When we take walks in the afternoon (which is usually when people start going home from work) Mason loves to wave at the cars (with both hands of course) and yell, Bye bye! Yesterday, we were out playing in the front yard and the kid down the street was driving his motorbike up and down the street a few times. Then TODAY, at Gymboree, there's a rocking horse type toy. Mason climbs up on it, its on a platform type thing- and figures out how to sit on it right, and what's he do? He grabs the handles and says, "Vrrrrroooooom Vrrrrooooom!"
He will be in for some serious disappointment with motorcycles- one of the MANY things he won't be allowed on! E.V.E.R!

A different kiddo this week!
Something clicked with Mason this past weekend. ALL of a sudden, he's realized he's supposed to eat more food than bottles! horray! Before, he was still depending on 8-16 oz of milk at night (and it was wearing us thin!) I guess it was to really finish filling him up. He was SUCH a picky eater, I'd offer him everything under the sun and he had minimal interest. But after this past weekend (maybe he hit a growth spurt or something, who knows!) but he eats SO good now, and has all week! I can never get him to eat much meat, but tonight I made my sour cream chicken enchiladas (which has a ton of meat in them) and Mason ate an entire one by himself. And they are not small by any means!
NOT to mention all of a sudden he's been sleeping AMAZINGLY as well! WHAT a relief!! He hasn't woken up once at night since Saturday night! Hip Hip Horray! I've been waking up in the morning doing the happy dance each morning! LOL AND his naps have been great! On days he's at home for nap time, he's been sleeping 2+ hours. OH such BLISS!!!! Today it was 3 hours. I was so happy!
AND i finally got a full peek in his mouth- looks like we've got 14 teeth total right now, soon to be 16! Thats both sets up upper and low incisors, both upper and lower cuspids (not fully in, they just cut in the past few weeks) and also his upper 1 year molars. Looks like his lower 1 year molars will be coming soon. So after those i think we're done with teething for a while! THERE IS AN END IN SIGHT!
Every afternoon that it is nice out, either we go to the park or we go for a walk up the street, play outside or even go for a wagon ride around the neighborhood. Today we did both a wagon ride and a walk. We started off with a walk, but Mason quickly discovered DIRT. and everytime we saw dirt, he went straight for it...so that ended quickly, and we went for a wagon ride instead! HAHA! Boys will be boys....

Bad Pets!
We love our pets really we do. They're all good pets, but like all children, they test their parents and push buttons. 2 of them are nearly perfect, but I wont tell you which ones. Anyone of our friends who talks about adopting a pet, I always joke that I'm willing to make a 2 for 1 deal with my herd, with a month's worth of free food. ;-) I kid, I kid..most of the time!LOL
The other day, Molly and Sabai were rather testy. Sabai in particular this day was really wanting attention. Either he's jealous of Gavin sleeping in bed with me or he's like Mason and has to have his "Momma time". usually he's next to ME in bed all night and in the mornings he'll cry (remember this is the cat) and I'll pick him up and bring him back to bed...not this particular morning. He decided to jump to the top of the cabinets by my rooster and sat there and cried for me. UM hello, dumb cat....I cant getcha down! Tub-o finally worked up the guts to jump back down after 15 minutes of coaxing! IRONICALLY, the thing that got him to come back down was an old jar of pureed baby meat...the cat LOVES that crap!
You can see the annoyed look on Sabai's face! LOL

Same day, poor Mason got PLOWED into by Molly. Apparently she can't see where she's going with her bangs now! LOL Guess it IS time for a grooming! Mason was pretty ticked at her after, he gave her a good yelling. LOL the pic is impact on collision.
SMACK!

Bday things...
I just had to BRAG on my talented hubby....yes, those are hand drawn on the birthday card envelopes. Why I got 2, who knows, but I must be special! :-P ....and not in the short bus kinda special...

Here's my birthday cake from Amy...now who's sweeter- Molly or the cake? Note to self....Molly needs to get groomed BAD!

On a side note, Mason's musical card officially died today. It was a sad and QUIET day at home. Mason cried. He misses his cheap entertainment. That was the best $5 I ever spent!

Birthday Doings
Wednesday was my Birthday, #27. Its okay, I'll admit it, and I'm not afraid to say I'm 27. I feel old enough to be taken seriously as an adult (I've got 6 years under my belt now of being a hard working adult!) and yet, I'm still in my 20's! So I'll cherish these last few years before my prime decade is gone! I'm still young, and I'll enjoy it!
Mason was in a cranky mood all wednesday from the time he woke up til dinner time. I wanted to take him out for Breakfast, but since he was so cranky, I told him he could make it up to me another day. Kristin took me to lunch (thai food...yum!!) and then Mason got to play outside for a bit in the afternoon since it was nice. We wanted to go to the park, but didnt make it. Overall, it was just a nice relaxing day! Gavin took me out for dinner and I wanted something cheap but not fast food- so we went to SpringCreek BBQ which Mason looooved. all his favorites, bread, mac n cheese, ice cubes, corn, and he loved their coleslaw too! He was in a much better mood after eating out. I still don't understand WHY he eats SO good when we eat out. I know I'm a fabulous cook, I think he just gets bored at home.
Gavin was out of town this weekend, so yesterday morning before church, I thought, hmmm Mason can make up our breakfast today and take me to McDonalds for my Birthday. ;-) We both enjoyed it. We split hot cakes and sausage and he got to play on the playground for a bit before Church. Maybe we'll have to make this a regular thing once every few weeks.
Its a beautiful day to start a new week, and a much easier week for me too! Looking forward to a slower week than last!
I'll upload my few funny birthday photos later today!

Remembering Gigi
Today is that dreaded day. The 2nd anniversary of my Mom passing away. I hate February 19th. It puts me in a rotten mood and just makes me want to cry all day. I hate having a reminder that my Mom isn't here.
I try to keep positive, we all know how optimistic I am, but on a day like today, I'm not so good at that! I hid out at the shop this morning and didn't answer my phone (sorry guys) I knew friends would be calling to say they were thinking of me, as much as those nice comments are appreciated, it still makes me face the day, and I'm not ready for that! I still cry everytime I think of my mom. So I hid out at the office and got some paper work done, met with some clients and got some things done to get ready for the upcoming season (starts this weekend!) and mostly to just keep my mind off the day!
Amy took the day off to do some retail therapy (shopping) and then I met her for lunch before picking up Mason from school and then we decided we should do something together with the babies, and since it was such a nice day I suggested the park! It was Rilee's first trip to the park, she was kind of unsure about the slide, but Mason is a Park veteran for sure and loves the slide! Rilee definitely enjoyed all the sticks! haha!
So we had a nice afternoon with the babies and doing something that "Gigi" would have loved to do with them!
I think next year we'll make a trip to the beach house from Valentines to my birthday- some place Mom would have loved to be!
Mason says, "I promise Rilee, its really fun!!"

Rilee's grip of death on the swing...I do love the warning label on the swing!

This photo doesnt even need a comment!!!! haha!

Climbing thru the tunnel

My arms got a good work out today from the darn slide. I think Mason slid down the slide a good 25 times!

Happy Boy!

Special Treatment!
Today Mason went to Mothers Day out (what we call 'school') he slept in later than usual, which really means I did too...anyway, I took him to school about an hour late. When we walked in, his teacher Miss Mary said he was the ONLY kiddo in class today! The other 6 other kiddos either were sick or had something else going on. So Mason got some SPECIAL TREATMENT today! He got to go on a buggy ride with the little babies since it was nice out, he got to walk around school with Miss Mary and Miss Becky for a 'field trip' and see all the other classes, he EVEN got to play outside on the playground with the bigger toddlers (something his class doesnt get to do yet!), took a nice long nap, got a special lunch from Miss Mary since he threw his on the floor (is he telling me he's bored of his lunches? I try to keep it creative!) and he even got special playtime in the fellowship hall. So he was pretty warn out tonight!!
We register Mason for school for this summer and fall on Thursday and its made me realize that he won't have the same teachers next year. That makes me sad! I don't know who loves them more, me or Mason! He has such great teachers- even I'm going to miss them next year..if ONLY they could move up with him! At least we still have a few months left with them! :-)

New words.
Mason has become quite the mimick-er. He copies the tone in my voice when I'm on the phone in the car while he has his pretend phone conversation on his pretend phone (remote control, cookie, brush...etc.) So maybe this is all the beginning of his REAL words? Besides saying, Mama, Dada, Baba, Bye, Hi, Da (dog), Ba (ball)...today he said, "Take-uuu" after I handed him something, I took this for "Thank You" (anytime he hands me something i thank him!) TWICE today, I said "lets get your back pack" and he replied with "Ack-Ack" I found that pretty darn funny. 1- because he was mimicking me and 2- because it reminds me of the movie "Mars Attack" where the aliens only talk with "ack ack ack ack ack ack" and Mason totally sounded like one of the aliens! LOL

CA Weekend Pictures
What a week I've had! SO much has gone on from our quick weekend to CA, recooperating from the weekend, getting sick (ear infection & sinus infection) my good friend Kristin had her Baby, Asher... decorating her nursery, Valentine's and MORE. man oh man, what happened to me having time off??

Amy, Rilee, Mason & I headed out to California on Friday and came home Sunday...what a fast weekend! Mason was teething SO bad while we were there. Sad to say, he's never cried so much!! I dont think there were enough teething tablets or tylenol to get rid of his pain. He was just cranky all weekend. He cried at the littlest things (except the beach, he enjoyed that too much!) He cut one of his cuspids over the weekend, I'm not quite sure how many teeth he has right now. All i know is it hurts him! He's got his 8 front incisors top and bottom, top 1 year molars, not sure if he has the bottom ones yet (trying to see in his mouth is next to impossible except when crying!) and he cut his bottom right cuspid this weekend and looks like he's starting on the left too. So I'm sure the top will be soon too! Poor kiddo, its rough! Cathy told that if adults went thru the teething that babies do, they would have to be put on serious pain medication! YIKES!
Besides the crankiness and teething, we had a great trip. We got to stay in my Dad's new house on the beach (we dont call it the beach house, because its SOOOO much more than just an average beach house! its AMAZING!) The house is in Corona Del Mar (Newport Beach) its down in China Cove and 40 feet from the sand! Its a nice quiet cove with lots of history and so much to see! The house is 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and SO nicely done, my dad did a great job finding it! And congrats to him to accomplishing something like purchasing a beach house! My mom would have been in heaven there (hee he hee!) and boy would she love to see the babies having fun on the beach! The great part is, we've got a great place to stay now and we can make several trips out this year and see all our family and our wonderful friends (the Davis') that much more now!!
Besides playing on the beach (which Mason absolutely LOVED!!!! I couldnt keep him OUT of the water!!!), of course we had to hit up the Orange County swapmeet with Candy & Cathy & the girls (McKenna and Maddy) we helped get the house situated a little (not easy with babies!) and found a great little italian restaurant in Newport Beach. Cant wait to go back soon!!!
